Nuria Ferrer are one of the youngest brands in our collection. But it is also one of the brands of swimwear that have also gotten really big with lots of international attention right now. Why exactly? What has made Nuria Ferrer what they are today? Well, let's take a look at their history and see if we can't find out what has put them on the map. Nuria Ferrer started out life around the early 1990s. They were founded in Girona, a city in the Catalonia region of Spain, just north of Barcelona.

This is where the magic happens, for sure. Being so close to a coastline is vital for a great swimwear designer. They thrive on the inspiration of being near the sea, and seeing so many other beautiful types of swimwear out there. This is where Nuria Ferrer began, but it certainly is not where they have ended up. There are so many other places out there that you can now find the brand, whereas so many other brands begin in a place and stay local. After first setting up in Girona, they began supplying Spanish boutiques. They did, however, mostly stay within their region of Catalonia.

Even though you can find them in some boutiques all over the country of Spain, they are still a very local and small brand, and in many ways they want to stay that way. But with the internet, you can be both. In the 1990s there was no internet shopping, so only high streets and department stores really existed.

Nuria Ferrer is a small company though, and they stayed in boutiques because of this, hence their smaller presence today and more niche range. They have stayed very local to their area up until the modern day, but now, they want to move beyond their regional presence. So how have Nuria Ferrer remained the small brand with heart and soul that their customers love, but grow to a greater size too? Simple, with the internet you can remain small but have incredible reach. Since the 2020s, Nuria Ferrer has started to contact and reach out to internet businesses first and foremost. This is the perfect combination for their business model. They have now moved into selling to a handful on international retailers that specialise in bringing items of swimwear to the world at a fantastic price. By partnering with a couple of choice retailers, they are able to easily bring their range to a national, continental, and even international audience.
